Recovery is the act of returning to the stage after being knocked off of it. Recovery is often different between individual characters, but some basics apply to all. All characters have a certain number of jumps they may perform in one aerial maneuver. Most characters also have additional methods of recovery with at least one of their specials. Some of these give them increased aerial movement, although some use tether recovery to grapple the edge. Most characters are more vulnerable during their recoveries, and often opens them up to some form of edge-guarding. Proper Directional Influence will also make recoveries more manageable.
