[edit] Design

Temple is one of the largest stages in Melee and Brawl, it consists of a landmass with a tunnel and platforms leading towards two smaller platforms at the bottom. When on high percentages of damage you can use the tunnel to reduce your chances of getting knocked off the stage, however it can also lead you directly to your death in below. Characters with long vertical recovery can use the small platforms on the left to get back up from the bottom. On the left side there is a small raised area aswell as a roof. Above the center is a wide roof that can be used to knock players into an air-K.O. To the right of the tunnel entrance is a raised section that can be used for Motion-Sensor Bombs. There is a small sloped platform here and all the way to the right are two platforms that are commonly ignored as they are very small and directly above eachother. It is easy to K.O. someone to the right side and up off the stage from those platforms.

[edit] Origin

Temple's design is based on several palaces from Zelda II: Adventure of Link. It is identical in both Melee and Brawl.

[edit] Super Smash Bros. Melee

Temple first appears in Melee as Hyrule Temple, it is one of the starter stages of the game. In Classic Mode and All-Star Mode you commonly encounter Ganondorf, Link, Young Link and Zelda on this stage.

  • Temple is banned in tournaments due to the size and shape of the stage.

[edit] Super Smash Bros. Brawl

In Brawl the stage name is changed to Temple and additional stage music plays on it. The stage only appears as a Versus stage in this game.

  • Temple is banned in tournaments due to the size and shape of the stage.
