[edit] Item Effect
This is a mushroom from Mushroomy Kingdom. The effect of walking into one of these is that you will shrink greatly in size. The consequences of this are obvious. Your hits do less damage and you fly a lot further when hit. Although some may believe that it makes you a smaller target and some bigger characters are less likely to hit you, but it is advised that you try to keep well clear of others until you are returned to normal size. Why don't you just dodge them you say? People often tend to make the mistake of thinking that they are in fact a Super Mushroom as they are very similar. The only way to tell them apart is that the poison mushroom is a shade darker. As well as that, they move on their own, which, when you are in the middle of fighting can cause a problem if you don't spot it and avoid it.
[edit] Strategy
This is pretty clear cut. When you have the misfortune of being under the effects of this, just keep running. With reduced weight, lowered attack strength and range, and reduced jumping range, you're in no position to try and fight others. The only time you should be attacking is to try and fend someone off and protect yourself. Otherwise, just run like you stole something until the effects wear off. If someone is tiny, act like you're a shark that smells blood in the water, and keep chasing after them. A tiny opponent is a much easier KO once you make contact with them. Be careful of using attacks that go side to side or aim high as their reduced stature will allow them do dodge those types of attacks. When attacking a tiny opponent, aim low as they can't run as fast or jump as high as usual. Once you manage to get a tiny opponent into the air, they're easy pickings. Aerial combat is not what a tiny character wants as they can only dodge one way, and that's by midair dodge, whereas on the ground they can just shield or do sidestep and rolling dodges. The air is your friend when trying to KO a tiny opponent.
