The Home-Run Bat is an immensely powerful item in the Smash Bros. trilogy. It has appeared in all three of the games and it is a baseball bat, except with a slight twist. As the name implies, it's made for home runs. Once the attack button is smashed, your fighter will strike a pose for a few seconds before unleashing a powerful swing. This swing has an intense amount of knock back, in fact, it kills whoever it comes in contact with in most cases. It sends them flying off the stage with a high pitched swing noise. Even throwing the bat itself can be powerful, if it comes in contact with the opponent.
The bat is also a key in the Home Run Contest from Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. After wailing on the Sandbag for a while and racking up his damage percentage, you whack him with a charge bat smash.
