 Item Effect
A freezie is, well, there's no other way to describe it, a block of ice that slides across the stage until it falls off. You can pick it up and throw it at others. If it hits then they are hurled into the air slightly and then they are trapped in a large block of ice. To escape this quickly move the control stick from one side to the other until you are out.
The strategy when playing with a Freezie is pretty straightforward. If you have one, find a target and throw the Freezie at them to get them frozen in ice. Remember that this is not a very powerful item, but if it hits you, you become defenseless until you can break free of the ice. This is similar to when Articuno comes out of a Pokéball and uses Sheer Cold to virtually KO anyone in the area by freezing the victims in ice. However, the Freezie is not nearly as strong as that and any fire attribute move, like Luigi's Fireball or Zelda's Din Fire, will instantly melt the ice while causing the damage the move would normally cause, minus the knock back. Keep in mind that you should use this item as a setup for multiple, quick combo moves to rack up damage on the helpless opponent. The ice breaks after a certain amount of hits are taken or when the control stick is moved back and forth with enough frequency.
